"I endeavor to educate my patients on all aspects of their eye condition. I always listen to my patients and help my patients to ask the right questions through my knowledge and consultation.
Macular Hole
The light-sensitive lining at the back of the eye is called the retina that is similar to the film in a camera. The purpose of the retina is to receive light that the lens has focused through the eye onto the retina, convert the light into neural signals, and send these signals to the brain for visual recognition. The macula is the central area of the retina - it is here that light must be focused for us to see the fine detail.
Diabetic Eye Disease
Diabetic retinopathy is a group of eye diseases that lead to potential blindness. This eye disorder is caused by damage to the blood vessel in the tissue at the back of the eye. People who have poorly controlled blood-sugar always remain at high risk.
Early symptoms include floaters, blurriness, dark areas of vision, and difficulty perceiving colors.
Retinal Detachment
Retinal detachment is the condition when the retina pulls away from supportive tissue.
Floaters
Floaters are small dark shapes that people can see drifting across their vision. These Floaters can look like spots, threads, squiggly lines, or even little cobwebs.
Vitreomacular traction
Vitreomacular traction (VMT) occurs when the vitreous gel that fills the eye shrinks and pulls away from the macula. The macula is made of special nerve cells that provide us with the sharp central vision needed for seeing fine detail (reading and driving etc.).
